CAST JOSEPHINE B (NL) ANNOUNCED
De Graaf & Cornelissen Entertainment brings the life story of Josephine Baker to the theater next season. Channah Hewitt will play the lead role in JOSEPHINE B. – a life in revue. The musical can be seen in the 2024-2025 season in many Dutch theaters. Producers Ruud de Graaf and Hans Cornelissen announced the complete cast on April 29, 2024.
It has been our great wish for years to present a musical theater production about the fascinating life of Josephine Baker.” says creative producer Hans Cornelissen. “We already realized that Channah Hewitt should become ‘our’ Josephine during the rehearsals of Les Misérables, in which she played the role of Fantine. But of course there are more characters in this special story. Around the figure of Josephine Baker are eight singing, playing and dancing men who played an important or determining role in her life and career. For these roles we have cast a number of experienced musical actors who have also appeared in previous productions of De Graaf & Cornelissen Entertainment such as Titanic, My Fair Lady, The Rocky Horror Show and Evita. Yoran de Bont, Yannick Plugers, Leo-Alexander Hewitt, Martijn Vogel, Ryk Helle, Matthew De Bruyne, Youri Ouwerkerk and Victor Marinus give shape to these important men.”
